Industrial heritage
Celje was also a center of industrial development in the Yugoslav era. Enameled goods, electrical products, and chemical manufacturing made the city economically significant. The industrial legacy has left environmental cleanup challenges, but also a working-class cultural identity distinct from Ljubljana’s administrative and university culture.
