Stanley is the capital and main settlement of the Falkland Islands, a British Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic about 500 kilometers east of the Argentine coast. It runs on Falkland Islands Time (UTC-3) all year.
The Falklands used to observe Southern Hemisphere daylight saving time, as befits a location at 52 degrees south. But in 2010, the islands abolished DST and moved to a permanent UTC-3. The permanent UTC-3 means that summer evenings are even later by the clock than they were under DST.
