Caloocan City is one of Metro Manila’s major cities, part of the National Capital Region of the Philippines. It runs on Asia/Manila: UTC+8, Philippine Standard Time, year-round. The Philippines uses a single timezone across its entire archipelago, from Luzon in the north to Mindanao in the south, and has not observed daylight saving time since 1990.

Caloocan is one of Metro Manila’s most populous cities, integrated into the contiguous urban fabric of the capital region. The boundary between Caloocan and Quezon City, Malabon, or Navotas is administrative rather than physical: the streets continue without visible transition.

The split city

Caloocan has a geographic peculiarity: it is officially divided into two non-contiguous parts. The northern section (Caloocan North) is separated from the southern section (Caloocan South) by the cities of Malabon and Navotas. A resident of Caloocan North and a resident of Caloocan South share a city name but live in effectively different urban neighborhoods with different characters and connections.

Both parts run on the same Philippine Standard Time.
